Artificial Reproduction of Thought

Dan’s childhood was spent hopping back and forth between urban Vancouver, BC and a family farm in Custer, WA. He believes that these opposing experiences created a duality that is present in his art.

At 14 he began taking classes at Whatcom Community College before transferring to the University of British Columbia where he played Football. As the quarterback, he led his team to a National Championship victory while earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.

“Art and athletics have always been a part of my life as well. To me they go hand in hand; fluid, emotional, physical, and fleeting.”

Dan then went on to earn a K-12 Visual Arts Teaching Certificate from Western Washington University, and still teaches art classes occasionally.

He also enjoys traveling and spending time with his daughter, Sophia, who is also a talented artist.
